This pack is designed for the user who has an existing cold water system or for people who have their own water pump, be it a bilge pump or pressure pump. The Glind hand held shower head and 2.4m hospital grade hose ensures the correct flow rate for maximum heat transfer when used with the Glind Heat Exchanger.
This compact heat exchanger (30 cm X 8 cm) with multiple mounting points is installed in the vehicles existing heater line. Made from copper, brass and space age materials designed for use in the automotive and marine industry (ny-glass 66), this brilliant device will deliver unlimited hot water at your desired temperature, wherever and whenever you want. With a 2 year warranty, your family can enjoy the great outdoors with one of life’s simple little comforts; a hot shower.
In many modern vehicles, the engine rpm must be lifted to approx 1500 rpm in order to get sufficient coolant flow, and while this may not be necessary in the warmer months, it is essential in the cooler months.
Heat exchangers need 2 things, heat and flow. The heat is governed by the thermostat rating and the flow is determined by engine rpm. More rpm = more flow =more heat transfer.
The modern engines of all sizes, have to meet global emission laws, and as such, coolant is diverted to accommodate this, for example, turbo’s, intercoolers, transmission coolers, EGR’s and DPF’s and as a result the coolant flow is reduced. But this is overcome by lifting engine rpm and it pumps extra amps into the battery system.
If you recirculate and pre-heat the water from a 20 l drum, this system will provide 2 really good showers. Simply wet yourself down, then shut the pump off by shutting off the Glind shower head, then soap yourself up, then re-activate the pump by opening the flow control on the shower head and rinse off. Too easy.
